Discover Cutting-Edge Treatment
for Depression and OCD
At Seaside Oaks Psychiatry, we are dedicated to providing advanced and compassionate care for individuals suffering from depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). We are proud to offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a groundbreaking technology that has been FDA-approved for the treatment of both depression and OCD.
Revolutionary TMS Technology
We employ the Horizon 3.0 system for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), providing targeted, non-invasive therapy for patients unresponsive to traditional treatments for depression and OCD. The Horizon 3.0 offers a range of protocols including standard rTMS, accelerated TMS, and the quick 3-minute iTBS, all designed to suit varied schedules and needs. Featuring advanced technology like the E-z Cool Coil for precise targeting and enhanced comfort, our TMS treatments are supported by Magstim’s extensive research, demonstrating significant clinical success. This approach ensures that each patient at Seaside Oaks Psychiatry receives personalized and effective care using the latest advancements in TMS technology.

What to Expect During a TMS Session
At Seaside Oaks Psychiatry, your first TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) session involves a detailed mapping process conducted by our doctor. This initial mapping is crucial to pinpoint the most effective treatment areas on your scalp. During this session, you'll wear a lightweight cap while the doctor locates the optimal treatment spots through gentle taps, determining where the magnetic pulses will have the most benefit.
Once the mapping is complete, the treatment spot is marked on the cap, which you will wear for each subsequent session. The rest of your treatments, totaling 36 sessions, will be administered by our certified nurse under close supervision from the doctor. Each regular session lasts about 20 minutes, during which the TMS coil is positioned over the marked area and activated to emit magnetic pulses. These sessions are characterized by a clicking sound and a tapping sensation on the scalp. It's normal to experience minor muscle twitches, such as around the eyes, which quickly become manageable.
For those seeking a quicker option, we also offer Theta Burst treatment—a more intensive form of TMS that lasts only about 3 minutes per session. This innovative approach is designed to deliver the same benefits in a fraction of the time.
Throughout the TMS therapy, you'll remain fully awake and alert, with no downtime required after sessions. You can return to your daily activities immediately afterward. Our treatment protocol is designed to ensure maximum efficacy and comfort, allowing you to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Accelerated Treatment Plans
Seaside Oaks Psychiatry provides an effective, rapid response treatment for depression with accelerated intermittent Theta Burst Stimulation (aiTBS). This treatment offers a condensed series of sessions over five days, utilizing a non-MRI-based navigation system for precise targeting without invasive procedures. While similar FDA-cleared treatments like SAINT TMS are not yet available commercially, our aiTBS is accessible now, offering patients quick relief from depressive symptoms.
